SHEBOYGAN — Two people are dead after a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Sheboygan.
Shortly after 3 PM, the Sheboygan Fire Department rushed to the scene of a three-vehicle crash on Pennsylvania Avenue between North 14th Street and North 15th Street. One person was reportedly deceased before firefighters arrived while another person was reportedly not breathing.
Two vehicles were involved and the drivers of both vehicles died as a result. The drivers are both from Sheboygan, a 56-year-old man and 49-year-old woman. There were no other passengers and no other injuries. One additional parked vehicle was struck. The cause of the accident is still under investigation but preliminary information suggests it may have resulted from a medical event.
Witnesses reported a vehicle speeding and blowing a red light as students from Sheridan Elementary School were being dismissed. Another witness at the scene was overheard telling police that a vehicle had not stopped for a stop sign in the area of North 9th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue prior to the crash.
Flight for Life was originally requested but was later cancelled.
Sheboygan Police are investigating the crash.
