SHEBOYGAN — Shoreline Metro will be reducing service on Saturdays starting on September 8, 2018 due to a shortage of bus drivers. Service reduction includes the removal of the shuttle service throughout the day. Shuttles before the first and last runs will remain in service.
Shoreline Metro expects this reduction in service to be temporary.
“This is an entirely new experience for the City of Sheboygan and Shoreline Metro,” said Derek Muench, Director of Transit for the City of Sheboygan. “Shoreline Metro is a great career opportunity and we want people to know that being a bus driver is a fun and rewarding career.”
Service reductions may also include further reduced service on Saturdays and weekday evenings until driver positions are filled.
“The City of Sheboygan is actively recruiting for these positions. Drivers make a good salary and receive excellent benefits,” added Muench. “Service reductions will disrupt the livelihoods of thousands of customers we service each day and the business and organizations they patron. It has a domino effect.”
