SHEBOYGAN — Advance tickets are on sale now for the 26th annual Sheboygan Early Bird Rotary Lobster Boil on Friday, July 20th at Fountain Park in Sheboygan.
Event seating will be available under the big-top tent and around the grounds – you can even bring your own tables and chairs if you prefer. The Lobster Boil has become a mainstay of summer in the area; all net proceeds support a wide range of important education initiatives including: Maywood Environmental Center, Bridgeway & Beyond (SCIO), Technical School scholarships, and the Red Raider Manufacturing Initiative at both North and South High Schools’ woodworking and welding shops.
Advance tickets for the $40 lobster dinner must be purchased by July 13th from any Early Bird Rotarian; at earlybirdrotary.org; or by calling H C Denison at 920-457-9451.
The dinner features a 1 ¼ pound of fresh Maine lobster (we’ll crack it for you) with all of the fixings (potatoes, corn, cole slaw, butter, and dinner roll) for you to eat in the Park, or take out. There are a lot of refreshment options for purchase including water, soda, a selection of wine provided by The Blind Horse, and specialty beer by 3 Sheeps Brewery – or, you can bring your own beverages.
The music of Beer Belly Idols will fill the park. Don’t care for lobster – no problem! In our Food Court, we are grilling brats, hamburgers, veggie burgers and chicken breasts for your delight. A highlight of the event is the annual Table Decorating contest with your choice of theme. The winning table leader will have the honor of contributing a $500 donation to the non-profit of their choice, and will receive 5 free tickets for the 2019 Lobster Boil, valued at $200.
Arrive early to select your table and register at the Information Table – judging will take place at 6 p.m. and is based on creativity, originality, and carry-through of your chosen theme.
