PLYMOUTH — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is planning a maintenance-level improvement project for Highway 23 this summer.
The work will take place on Highway 23 from County Road P in Sheboygan County to Division Road in Fond du Lac County. While this project is not associated with the pending four-lane expansion of Highway 23, officials say the improvements are still greatly needed.
Improvements to the stretch of highway include:
- Mill and overlay the existing pavement surface
- Install centerline rumble strips
- Repair beam guard
- Apply pavement markings to the new asphaltic surface
- Install new roadway signs to improve reflectivity and visibility
Construction is projected to begin between mid-June and early August and last roughly two months according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
