SHEBOYGAN — For the second year in a row, the UW-Sheboygan Women’s Tennis Team finished as runners up at the WCC State Tennis Tournament.
The Wombats scored 8 points while UW-Washington took the title with 9 points. Ari Vorpahl defended her #1 singles title winning 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 over Kirstin Grzenia of UW-Baraboo. Vorpahl teamed up with Klohie Kuehne at #1 doubles and defeated UW-Baraboo 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 for the championship.
The Men’s Tennis team scored 5 points to finish in third place at the WCC State Tennis Tournament. UW-Washington won the tournament with 19 points and UW-Fond du Lac was runner up with 6 points.
The Wombats #2 doubles team of Sergio Pulido and Owen Vihos-Hoover lost in their finals match 6-2, 6-4.
