SHEBOYGAN — The Sheboygan County Humane Society announced the first recipients of the Dr. Lonnie Laack Award last week.
The Dr. Lonnie Laack Award is an award presented to an individual or organization for significant contributions to the Sheboygan County Humane Society. SCHS honored its first recipients on Friday, April 20th during National Volunteer Week. The first recipients including: Dr. Lonnie Laack, Sharron Quasius Jensen and John Husband.
These individuals have displayed leadership and dedication to saving the lives of homeless animals in Sheboygan County.
The support of the community allows SCHS to fulfill its mission; the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education. “When a community joins together we can do powerful things,” said SCHS Executive Director Leah Helms. “Together we are making our community a better place for people and pets!”
