SHEBOYGAN — A Sheboygan woman is facing three felony drug charges after police responded to a shooting last week.
25-year-old Bethany B. Garcia, who resides at 929 North 8th Street, Apt. 6 in Downtown Sheboygan, was charged with felony possession of cocaine and possession of THC, both charges were her second and subsequent offense. Additionally, she was charged with felony maintaining a drug trafficking place and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia as well as bail jumping.
According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 10:54 PM on Thursday, April 5th, Sheboygan Police were called to 929 North 8th Street regarding a gunshot. Police executed a search warrant at Garcia’s apartment.
In the kitchen, police found a small tie-off baggie with a white powder inside, which tested positive for cocaine. Also in the kitchen, burnt up roach, as well as some rolling papers, which had a green leafy substance sprinkled throughout them, was found. A black digital scale was found in a cupboard.
On the shelves in that cupboard, was marijuana shake. In a closet, an officer located a backpack that was filled with large cut open, empty, vacuum –sealed bags with evidence of marijuana being stored inside of them. In all of the bags, police noted that there was a lot of marijuana shake inside.
In a large rugged case, police found a digital scale. Also inside that case, were marijuana flakes and a very strong odor of marijuana. On the floor in the living room, officers located a brown, pink, and purple glass marijuana pipe, as well as another roach in an ashtray on the floor. According to the criminal complaint, other drug paraphernalia was found within the apartment.
Police located a total of 29.75 grams of THC in the apartment.
Cash bond has been set at $2,500 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 18th.
Last week, the Sheboygan Police Department said the shooting was an apparent armed robbery targeting this specific apartment and there is no continuing threat to the community. The suspects fled the apartment with undisclosed property. Police are continuing to identify the suspects.
