SHEBOYGAN — The Sheboygan South High School Band Boosters are sponsoring a classic swing era big band dance on Saturday, April 14th in the High School Commons.
The Spring Swing is a semi-formal dance that will begin at 7 PM with live music provided by the talents of the Sheboygan South High School Jazz Ensembles and the regionally renown big band, Lighthouse. A variety of swing and jazz music will be played non-stop until 11 PM with lots of room to kick up and swing. Or if you just want to watch and listen, plenty of seating will be available.
This is the 11th year that South High School has offered this event to the community.
“There are just not that many social functions where people of all ages can dress-up and enjoy dancing anymore,” said and Director Wade Heinen. “Since we have first started this dance, over 2,000 students and community members have come together to enjoy this one true American art form!”
Dance tickets are currently on sale at Du Bois Formal Wear, and the Sheboygan South High School Main Office and Activities Office. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets are $20 at the door.
South High School is located at 1240 Washington Avenue in Sheboygan.
