SHEBOYGAN — A Sheboygan man is accused of knocking a woman unconscious during a fight this month on the city’s south side.
31-year-old Randy Duron, who resides at 2304 Wedemeyer Street, was charged last week in Sheboygan County Court with three felonies; strangulation and suffocation, substantial battery and bail jumping. He was also charged with misdemeanor intimidation of a witness, battery and disorderly conduct. Cash bond was set at $20,000 and a preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, April 18th.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to to a residence located in the 1300 block of Maryland Avenue on April 6th for a report that Duron allegedly knocked a 27-year-old woman unconscious. The victim’s 12-year-old child told police that her mother and Duron were fighting. During the fight, Duron had pushed the woman at which point she reportedly kicked a dog gate. The child told police that Duron then came and picked up the victim by her hair and smashed her head on the door.
When the victim’s child went downstairs, the man followed her and told her that her mother was faking and to lie, saying that she is just drunk and tripped over the dog gate. The child then ran to a neighbor’s residence and asked them to call the police. Duron followed her to the neighbor’s residence and continued to tell her to lie. Duron continued to do this until the neighbor had to tell him to leave.
The victim told police about three additional incidents.
During one of the incidents, the victim was in Duron’s bedroom when he climbed on top of her and placed his knees on her shoulders to hold her down. The victim said that she was hit repeatedly in the face and that Duron punched her hard in the stomach. Duron then began to choke her with both hands, but suddenly stopped and left the room. He returned a few seconds later with a belt according the criminal complaint.
During that time, the victim had gotten off of the bed. Duron tied the belt around her neck and began to choke her with it. She told police that he continued to do so until she went limp and passed out.
The victim said that she woke up one morning earlier this month to make him breakfast and Duron whistled at her. The man began to yell at her, saying that he wanted money for pizza. A short time later, a pizza deliveryman arrived. Duron made the woman pay for the pizza then he made her call and complain about the pizza so that they could get a credit for a future order. The victim told police that she went into the bathroom to cry and Duron came in a short time later and hit her on the back of the head with a broom stick.
