SHEBOYGAN FALLS — A man is facing two felony drug charges after police found meth during a traffic stop in Sheboygan Falls.
26-year-old Cody R. Schneidewent, of N8651 Ridge Creek Road in Elkhart Lake, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He has posted $500 cash bond and is due back in court on May 8th for a preliminary hearing.
According to the criminal complaint, a police officer conducted a traffic stop on April 14th after the officer discovered the vehicle had expired registration. The driver of the vehicle was identified as having a suspended driving status and the passenger in the vehicle, Schneidewent, had an active warrant for his arrest.
Schneidewent was asked if there was anything on his person that officers needed to be concerned about. The man told officers that he had a needle in his front pocket. Police took the needle and a small silver round tin out of Schneidewent’s pocket.
A K-9 sniff of the vehicle was conducted. The police dog alerted, and the vehicle was searched for possible narcotics inside. Inside the vehicle, an officer found an uncapped syringe with a clear-like liquid inside of it, along with a plastic baggie of marijuana. The officer also believed the clear-like substance in the syringe to be either heroin or methamphetamine. The items were found in-between the driver’s seat and center console of the vehicle. Police asked the driver about the items, who said they were Schneidewent’s.
Police tested the clear liquid which indicated positive for methamphetamine.
