HOWARDS GROVE — Lakeshore Pallet, a pallet manufacturer with local roots dating back to the 1800’s has new owners, and they have a long time connection to the company.
Mike and Kay Hannes, of Plymouth, recently completed purchase of a company for which Mike Hannes has served as Production Manager for the past 13 years. “Having served as Lakeshore Pallet’s Production Manager I know first-hand the commitment to high-quality products and superior customer service,” said Hannes. “It will be my pleasure to continue that tradition for our valued customer base.”
The company was previously owned by Mark Bender.
Lakeshore Pallet is a full-service wooden pallet manufacturing and recycling company, specializing in heat-treated pallets that meet ISPM compliance. The products are manufactured in Sheboygan County from 100% American-sourced components. The business plan is to continue steady growth and increasing local employment.
Senior financing for the company was provided by Bank First of Sheboygan along with a loan through the Sheboygan County revolving loan fund. Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) worked with the Hannes’ to help complete the application process. Business plan development was complete by collaboration with SCEDC and the Small Business Development Center at UW-Green Bay.
“Lakeshore Pallet provides much-needed resources so that our companies can distribute their products to the world,” noted SCEDC’s Business Development Manager Jim Schuessler. “It is a pleasure working with Mike and Kay so that employment can continue to grow in Howards Grove.”
