SHEBOYGAN — The Town of Sheboygan recently purchased a lakefront home for nearly $400,000.
In December, the Sheboygan Town Board approved the purchase of 4905 Dennwood Drive for $393,130.26. Due to drainage issues occurring on North Lane, two easements are needed in order to resolve the drainage problems.
Town officials had looked at other potential discharge options, Public Works Director William Blashka said during a Town Board meeting. Open ditching is the best option, which neighboring homeowners do not want.
Last July, the Town Board hired Wagner Excavating for $97,500 to install five catch basins in the ditch and an eight inch line to the north to drain the water.
Blashka referred questions about the purchase and project to Town Board Chairman Dan Hein who said after a pipe is installed on the property, the town will sell the home.
