SHEBOYGAN — Realtors in Sheboygan County have reported a demand for quality condos in the area.
The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation presented to the Sheboygan County Board of Realtors meeting last month. During the meeting the group of more than 60 real estate agents, officials discussed customer requests for housing currently not available in the area.
Much agreement stated there is a high, unmet demand for condos that appeal to empty-nesters, a fast growing demographic in Sheboygan County according to Jim Schuessler, the SCEDC’s Business Development Manager. In general, clients of local realtors are looking for urban condos that have two garage stalls.
In addition to condos, the other unmet housing need discussed was for modest ranch-style under 2,000-square-feet.
A condo study, ordered by the SCEDC in coordination with the City of Sheboygan identified need for 160+ condos. In addition, the SCEDC feels that an additional 50 plus single family units must be built annually. The experience of local real estate professionals mirrors studies and data collected by the SCEDC.
