SHEBOYGAN — If you visit or call the Mayor’s Office in Sheboygan, you’ll speak with Sarah Schwefel.
Schwefel, whose official title is Communications Specialist and Administrative Assistant, started working for Mayor Mike Vandersteen late last year. “I joined the Mayor’s Office because my heart is truly invested in our community and I’m devoted to helping it thrive,” said Schwefel.
She is responsible for the administrative support and coordination of the Office of the Mayor. In addition, she updates the city’s social media networks and manages the city’s newsletter. “I also create communications materials to inform citizens, businesses, visitors, stakeholders, and others about various aspects of the City of Sheboygan,” added Schwefel.
Outside City Hall, she is involved in the community. Since 2009, Schwefel has been a member of the Sheboygan Jaycees and served as Chapter President in 2014. She is currently serving as the President of the Friends of the Sheboygan Jaycees organization.
Before joining the Mayor’s Office, Schwefel previously worked as a Marketing Coordinator at Donohue & Associates from 2014 through 2017. She replaces Mary Rajer, who retired on January 2, 2018, after working in the Mayor’s Office for 17 years.
To contact Mayor Vandersteen or Schwefel, citizens can call (920) 459-3317 or visit the Mayor’s Office on the third floor of City Hall at 828 Center Avenue in Downtown Sheboygan.
