Wilterdink participated against other top spellers from Sheboygan County and came in 1st place. Wilterdink spelled Azalea correctly in the final round. He will compete in the State Spelling Bee in Madison on March 24th.
“I think it’s important our school participates because we want to encourage the love of words, to improve spelling, and to increase student vocabularies,” explains Jen DeBroux, Random Lake’s gifted and talented teacher and spelling bee coordinator.
