SHEBOYGAN — The Sheboygan Area School District announced the hiring of three new administrators.
Jim Renzelmann has been hired as the Coordinator of Student and Instructional Services. This new position was approved in June 2017 and will oversee the curricular areas of Reading/ELA, Social Studies, World Languages, and Music. He is currently the principal at Grant Elementary School.
Renzelmann and has served in that role since July 2015. He has also served as the Assistant Principal at Farnsworth Middle School and was a mathematics, reading, and social studies teacher for 18 years.
Kathleen Hoppe has been hired as the Director of Student and Instructional Services. In this role, she will oversee assessments, charter schools, and will supervise building principals. Hoppe is currently a Special Education / Elementary Principal at the Sevastopol School District in Sturgeon Bay.
Hoppe has previously served as an Assistant Superintendent of Administration at Waterford Graded School District. She also served as the Director of Teaching and Learning at the Howard-Suamico School District, as well as an Elementary Principal for 14 years.
These two positions have been filled as part of the realignment of roles and responsibilities within the Student and Instructional Services Department. Jake Konrath will be moving to the role of Assistant Superintendent of Student and Instructional Services, and Seth Harvatine will be moving into the role of Superintendent with the retirement of Dr. Joseph Sheehan on June 30, 2018.
Amy Buffington has been hired as the Principal of Sheridan Elementary School. She is currently one of the co-principals at Sheridan Elementary and prior to that role, was a Spanish Dual Language teacher for six years.
All hires are effective July 1, 2018.
