PLYMOUTH — A teenage girl is facing two felonies after police discovered marijuana in her car following an accident that occurred in Plymouth.
17-year-old Morgan R. LaPorte, who resides at 112 Caroline Street in Plymouth, was charged Thursday in Sheboygan County Court with two felony drug charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21st.
According to the criminal complaint, Plymouth Police investigated an accident that occurred at 203 Suhrke Road on November 28th, 2017. While investigating the accident, an officer located marijuana inside LaPorte’s vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed 2.2 grams of raw marijuana buds scattered throughout the vehicle. The buds were tested using a NARC pouch test kit, and tested positive for the presence of THC.
When questioned by police, LaPorte said that day, a male named Zach walked up to her vehicle which was parked in the City Park parking lot that afternoon. She said Zach came up to her vehicle, and requested one ounce of marijuana. LaPorte stated she gave him just less than one ounce. She indicated she gave the marijuana to him in a plastic zip-top bag, and it was all marijuana buds.
LaPorte then said that Zach grabbed the marijuana and attempted to flee from her car without paying for it. At this point, the girl grabbed onto Zach and there was small altercation inside the vehicle, but Zach was eventually able to get away and took off on foot. LaPorte said Zach owed her $200 for less than one ounce of marijuana.
The girl told police that she sells to approximately 30 people in the Plymouth area. LaPorte told police she sells about a half a pound a week. She told officers she has money set aside, usually $1,000 strictly for buying and selling drugs. She indicated this money was hidden in her bedroom at her home.
