SHEBOYGAN — Downtown Sheboygan’s premier brewpub, 8th Street Ale Haus, has announced the lineup of live music for this winter’s offering of Sunday afternoon entertainment.
Performances will take place from 1 to 4 PM every Sunday through April 22nd.
To kick things off, guitarist and songwriter Jim Ohlschmidt will be joined by Kevin Zimmermann of the Buffalo Joe Band on keyboard, and John Selak from Bowser on bass, as the Ale “Haus Band.” With special guest Michael Ammons, Grafton Blues Challenge winner and leader of the Water Street Hot Shots. This quartet freely blends old-time blues with other classics and original songs on February 11th.
Ammons will also be a featured performer with the Ale “Haus Band” on March 4th and April 8th.
Steve Cohen, harmonica virtuoso and leader of Milwaukee’s legendary Leroy Airmaster band joins Ohlschmidt, Zimmermann, and John Michels on bass for an afternoon of blues with a little swing and jazz on February 18th, March 18th, and April 15th.
February 25th blends the talents of multi-instrumentalist and ukulele star Lil Rev, Tim Dekker on fiddle, Ammons on National Reso-phonic guitars, Rich Higdon on upright bass, and Ohlschmidt on guitar in a celebration of 1920s and 30s blues, ragtime, and popular songs. This is the first time Marc Revenson, Ammons, and Ohlschmidt will be performing as a trio in Sheboygan.
Rock and blues legend Dave Steffen, recent winner of the WAMI Lifetime Achievement Award, takes the stage with his longtime bassist Craig Neuser and Ohlschmidt in an acoustic “power trio” playing classic blues, rock, and country on March 11th, March 25th, and April 22nd.
8th Street Ale Haus will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 1st.
