SHEBOYGAN — Winter parking rules begin December 1st in the City of Sheboygan.
Residents who park their vehicles on city streets will need to remember to park for tomorrow according to city officials. Until April 1st, residents must alternate parking every night between 2 AM and 6 AM.
On odd-numbered days, between the hours of 2 AM and 6 AM vehicles shall only be parked on that side of the street having odd-numbered street addresses, east and south sides. On even-numbered days, between the hours of 2 AM and 6 AM, vehicles shall only be parked on that side of the street having even-numbered street addresses, north and west sides.
Streets posted with “No Parking” restrictions shall remain in effect; therefore are not under alternate side parking rules.
Whenever a snow emergency is declared between November 1st to April 30th, parking on the streets of the city shall be permitted on the even sides of the street, north and west sides, when the snow emergency is declared to start on an even-numbered day. When a snow emergency is declared on an odd-numbered day, the city shall be permitted on the odd sides of the street, south and east sides.
The parking rules are simpler in other Sheboygan County communities where no parking is allowed at all. In Cedar Grove, Elkhart Lake, Cascade, Oostburg and Plymouth, the times are between 2 AM and 6 AM and in Howards Grove between 2 AM and 7 AM.
