SHEBOYGAN – The South 8th Street bridge will close Monday for two weeks.
Beginning Monday, October 16th the 8th Street will be closed between Indiana Avenue and Riverfront Drive for pavement repairs. South 8th Street is scheduled to reopen on Friday, October 27 according to the Department of Public Works.
The work is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change. Pedestrian access will be allowed over the bridge during this time. Pedestrians are advised to follow the signs and stay out of the work areas.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is rehabilitating the bridge.
A majority of the work will be modifications and repairs to the hydraulic system of the bridge. Concrete pavement repairs, concrete sidewalk replacement and painting are also included according to Sheboygan’s Department of Public Works.
Work is expected to be completed in late April of 2018.
