SHEBOYGAN – Three new hotels are being proposed on the city’s southwest side.
The proposed Hampton Inn would be built on a vacant and undeveloped 6.2-acre property at the dead end of Greenwing Drive, located near Goodwill and Walmart. The $11 million four-story hotel will feature 95 guest rooms, indoor swimming pool and outdoor patio.
The hotel, which is a Hilton brand, would create approximately 25 jobs, according to documents submitted to the City of Sheboygan. Construction is planned to start in spring 2018 on the 15,272 square foot hotel.
Earlier this year, the City of Sheboygan approved a proposal to construct a four-story, Fairfield Inn hotel along South Taylor Drive, south of the Holiday Inn Express. The proposed hotel would consist of 108 guest rooms and would be built on an undeveloped 4.9-acre property. A second hotel, Courtyard, is being proposed but company officials did not provide a timeline on that development.
Ground breaking on the Fairfield Inn could begin as early as spring of 2018.
Fairfield Inn and Courtyard are part of Marriott Hotels.
