Man arrested after firing gun in Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN — A man was arrested Saturday for firing a gun on the city’s north side.

At approximately 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 17th, Sheboygan police received a report of a man acting suspiciously and possibly armed with a firearm near a north side business. Officers responded to the area and located a 30 year old man matching the suspect description.

The subject was cooperative and was determined to be in possession of a firearm.

Further investigation revealed the subject fired one round while outdoors. The man was taken into custody and placed at the Sheboygan County Detention Center. “It does not appear that anyone was targeted and no injuries were reported as a result of this incident,” said Sgt. Shannon McKay.

The investigation is ongoing.
