Police investigate body pulled from Sheboygan River

Authorities recover a body from the Sheboygan River on March 19, 2017.SHEBOYGAN — Police recovered a body Sunday morning from the Sheboygan River.

The Sheboygan County Dive Team was called to the boardwalk near the Sheboygan Bicycle Company, 721 Riverfront Drive, for a recovery of a body that was found floating in the water between a fishing boat and the dock just after 8:30 AM on Sunday, March 19th.

The Sheboygan Police Department is investigating the incident. The body, that of a white male, has been identified but the name is not being released pending notification of family. The Dive Team recovered the body and transported it to the Harbor Centre Marina Boat Launch where the Sheboygan County Medical Examiner was waiting. The body was then transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

A number of agencies assisted with the recovery of the body including; the Sheboygan Fire Department, fire departments from Kohler, Cedar Grove, Town of Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth and City of Sheboygan Falls.
