KOHLER — A 55 year old Sheboygan man was arrested Sunday after allegedly driving drunk and crashing into pole at Target.
Myles S. Stanisch, who resides at 4535 Pheasant Lane, was charged Monday with felony fourth offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 8:43 PM on Sunday, February 5th, officers from Kohler and Sheboygan Falls police departments were dispatched to check on a man who was walking in the area of Highway 28 and Paradise Lane, in front of traffic, almost getting hit by vehicles. An officer observed a 2010 Cadillac, red in color, that was on the westbound shoulder of Highway 28 approximately one-tenth of a mile west of County Road A. There was fresh heavy front end damage to the right driver’s side bumper, and the headlight and the front fender on the rim.
There was a fluid trail from the vehicle that flowed back to the Target parking lot.
A short distance from the city where this vehicle was parked, an officer and deputy located stopped Stanisch, who was walking in that area. According to the criminal complaint, Stanisch had bloodshot eyes, a glassy appearance and was slurring his speech. Stanisch had the keys to the 2010 Cadillac that had sustained the damage on Highway 28 on him. Stanisch then indicated to officers that he had just been at a sports bar and that he was trying to get home.
Stanisch began to slur his speech and use profanities, including threatening officers several times throughout the night. He was later was transported to the hospital, where police conducted a blood draw, the results are pending as of Monday. A preliminary breath test was given, which registered a blood alcohol level of .25 — nearly three times the legal limit.
