Sheboygan firefighters help displaced fire victim

SHEBOYGAN — Recently, firefighters helped a 67 year old man move into a new apartment after being displaced by a fire last summer.

On Friday, February 3rd, firefighters from the Sheboygan Fire Department and local officials assisted in moving a previously displaced fire victim into a new apartment. Leonard Zimmer was displaced in August of last year as a result of a fire at the Embers Apartment complex on South Business Drive. Zimmer was the last person to still be without a permanent living arrangement after the fire.

“Thanks to the continued work of Sheboygan County officials and Sheboygan Firefighters, Mr. Zimmer will be in a new apartment that he can call home,” said Fire Chief Mike Romas. “Sheboygan County officials were instrumental in making this possible and also assisted Mr. Zimmer in acquiring furniture for his new apartment.”

Zimmer now resides at Wasserman Apartments on North Water Street in Sheboygan.
