RANDOM LAKE — The principal of Sheboygan South High School, Michael Trimberger, has been named the next superintendent of the Random Lake School District.
The Random Lake School Board selected Trimberger as the school district’s next superintendent Monday night during a special meeting according to an the administrative assistant to works in the district office. Trimberger will replace retiring superintendent Tom Malmstadt. In 2016, Malmstadt was named the executive director of the Sheboygan County United Way.
Trimberger is expected to start at Random Lake School District in July 2017. A replacement for Trimberger at South has not been made.
In January, Trimberger and former North High School principal Jason Bull were named the two finalists for the superintendent position for the Sheboygan Area School District. But In a surprise turn of events, it was announced last week Dr. Joseph Sheehan will continue to serve as Superintendent of the Sheboygan Area School District for another school year.
During his time as principal at South High School, Trimberger implemented a number of reforms and programs including Red Raider Manufacturing, Flex Mod and the Redwing Way. Trimberger has served as principal at South High School since 2011. Prior to that, he served as principal at Sheridan Elementary School from June 2008 to June 2011 and served as Associate Principal at Farnsworth Middle School.
