TOWN OF LYNDON — The 16 year old girl who died after a serious crash Tuesday morning south of Plymouth has been identified by authorities.
At 7:02 AM on Tuesday, January 3rd, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a serious injury crash on County Road U, east of Elderberry Lane in the Town of Lyndon.
The 16 year old driver of a pickup truck, Jodeen Hinz, and a 16 year old passenger were westbound on County Road U just east of Elderberry Lane, where they encountered black ice. “The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway into the south ditch, where they collided with trees,” said Lieutenant John Detienne.
Hinz was ejected and died at the scene, the passenger was uninjured.
Plymouth School District Superintendent Dr. Carrie Dassow released this statement:
We are grieving the loss of one of our students, who passed away in a car accident this morning. We are very saddened by this event, and our condolences go out to the family.
We are asking students to stay at school where counselors and other support are available.
Plymouth Fire Department and Orange Cross Ambulance responded to the crash while the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash.
