KIEL — Kiel High School was evacuated Monday morning due to bomb threat that was discovered by school staff.
Police were called the the high school at appropriately 8:15 AM on Monday, November 7th. The threat was vague in nature but was taken seriously by high school staff according to Kiel Police Chief Dave Funkhouser. The school was evacuated as a safety measure for the students and staff.
Officers from the Kiel Police Department were able to identify the student responsible for the threat and that student was taken into protective custody police. The name of the student is not being released.
“The entire building and exterior grounds of Kiel High School were searched by members of the Kiel police and fire departments, said Funkhouser.
No suspicious items or any items of concern were located during the search and classes resumed at approximately 10 AM.
