SHEBOYGAN — The Rotary Clubs of Sheboygan County are hosting their 5th annual Making Spirits Bright light show at Evergreen Park.
It is a free event, although nonperishable food and monetary donations are bring accepted. Last year, nonperishable food donations provided a 5 month supply to the Sheboygan County Food Bank. In addition to some of the monetary donations being put towards next year’s light show, some funds are donated towards other non-profit organizations in the community.
The 5th annual show opened on Friday, November 25th and will be open from daily every evening from 5 PM to 9 PM, except for Christmas Eve, until December 31st. For those attending, be courteous: use your low beam lights and go the posted 5 mph speed limit.
Making Spirits Bright is a drive through light show. You don’t have to worry about bundling up the family, or your children running off in the dark. You just buckle them into the car, turn on the heat, and watch the beautiful Christmas lights. Timed to the music of radio station 89.1 FM, more than 275,000 lights lights jump and flash, making it a beautiful scene.
This year, buildings in the park were decorated to look like Santa’s workshop and the North Pole Post Office. There were tunnels of lights for the cars to drive under, a gingerbread house, singing reindeer, and even Snoopy. There’s plenty for everyone in the family to enjoy.
During the weekends at the Quarryview Center on Calumet Drive, guests can enjoy entertainment, visits with Santa, raffles of professionally decorated wreaths, concessions, and trolly rides on Friday and Saturday nights.
