SHEBOYGAN — We are the Willows returned Friday night to Paradigm Music and Coffee, bringing their unique orchestral sound back to Sheboygan to kick off Season 4 of The Étude Sessions.
The Étude Sessions is a fundraising effort by The Étude Group of schools, including ESAA Elementary School for the Arts and Academics, The Mosaic School, and IDEAS Academy. The proceeds from The Étude Sessions go directly to support The Étude Group’s Expanding Horizons programs, ensuring all students have opportunities for field experiences, hands on projects, and community participation according to Ted Hamm, the Director and Founder of The Etude Group.
We are the Willows was the first show in a series of five concerts presented by The Étude Sessions in their fourth season. The artists were among the first to play on Paradigm’s newly renovated stage Friday night. It was great to see the shop packed, with people standing and sitting on the floor. They had various drinks and food items for sale. Beer and wine from the 8th Street Ale Haus was also available.
The next show scheduled will feature Birds of Chicago on Friday, November 18th. To learn more about The Étude Sessions, go to etudegroup.org/etude-sessions.
There were also two incredible female opening acts. The first artist was IDEAS Academy graduate Alison Heinen, and she sang beautifully while playing the guitar. Next up was Emily White, who is an independent folk-rock touring singer-songwriter based out of Chicago. As an opening act, she sang a number of great songs with her unique voice. If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow night, she will perform again at Paradigm Coffee.
Paradigm, located at 1202 North 8th Street, is a very comfortable, trendy coffee shop in downtown Sheboygan. They are currently making renovations to their other two stages, and they should look fantastic once completed. In the back of the shop there is a larger table with a number of games on the shelves underneath.
