SHEBOYGAN — Known for creating the sounds of an era and songs of a lifetime, The Guess Who, will be performing their hits in Sheboygan on November 10th at 7:30 PM at the Weill Center.
Presented by the Kiwanis of Sheboygan County Foundation, the show is a fundraising concert for a bridge to be built at Bookworm Garden’s.
Formed in Winnipeg, Canada in 1965 The Guess Who achieved international recording success from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s through hit records such as, “Shakin All Over”, “No Time”, “American Woman”, “These Eyes”, “Share the Land”, “Clap for the Wolfman”, “Undone”, and “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature”. As with most groups with decades of success there have been member changes to continue keeping the unique sound and style of the band at the forefront of their performance.
Currently, The Guess Who consists of founding member Jim Kale (bass, vocals) and original member Garry Peterson (drums, vocals). Will Evankovich (guitars, vocals), Derek Sharp (vocals, guitars, and Leonard Shaw (keyboards, vocals, flute, sax) complete the group.
All members play numerous instruments and their vocals represent the true classic sound of The Guess Who.
With new albums coming out every couple of years and a live album currently sold at performances the hit songs are joined with new material. Still featured in music stores throughout the world The Guess Who’s Greatest Hits is a constant seller and favorite on YouTube.
The Guess Who is honored in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, has received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award of Canada and has been presented with numerous Juno Awards (Canada’s Grammy Award). The Guess Who was also the launching pad for the careers of past members, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings.
